Philippians 2:5-11

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father

What does this tell you about Jesus and his mission?
What questions does this passage raise about who Jesus is?
How is God asking you to respond to what you see in Jesus in this text?

My Response
Jesus is God and he took the form of a human. He died on the cross for our sins.

To realize that if Jesus took on a human form, a servant there should not be any boast of inequality between of us. i mean God came down in human form...he was among the people, teaching, loving, praying, performing miracles. how tangible that is...how tangible a relationship with God is. you know he knows what its like to be a human, to have pain, to have gone through temptation, to sacrifice his life for us because the Father loved us so much. how amazing! yet we have this separation among the church...we have inequality..so much to this day. why? for what? If God didn't have it why should we?

We need to have the mindset of Christ!
